A friend in Charlotte, NC passed this announcement on to me. Part of the 12/4 educational symposium on PD will address LBD....
The Parkinson Association of the Carolinas invites you to attend the 2009 Educational Symposium on Friday, December 4, 2009. The event will be held at the Ramada Inn, located at 212 Woodlawn Road in Charlotte, and will last from 8:30am to 3:15pm. The cost to attend the Symposium is $20 per person, with lunch and breaks included. Rooms are available to out-of-town participants by calling 1-800-VIP-STAY.
Speakers and topics include: Dr. Danielle Englert of the Movement Disorders Division of the CMC Department of Neurology will discuss Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS); Dr. Alexander Troster of the UNC Department of Neurology will discuss depression and other non-motor challenges; Dr. Mark Hirsch of the Carolinas Healthcare System/Carolinas Rehabilitation Center will discuss the benefits of exercise for Parkinsonâs patients; and Dr. Reza Bolouri of the Alzheimerâs Memory Center will discuss Lewy Body Dementia (LBD).
