 Thank you
Renata, thank you for being so kind at such a difficult time for you.
Robin, we were just so lucky to have time to use the Hoyer lift. It made me realize how completely vulnerable we are in a situation like that. We couldn't just get up and run outside.
What could've been a tragedy is instead really just an inconvenience. It's not the first such disruption we've suffered so, with all our deficits, we're probably better able to adapt than some of the young people whose first major disruption this is!

amba- talk about grace. You along with so many here are amazing to even have your wits about you at that most awful time. Then to be dropped into a too small apt..... you just have to ask "why" does it have to be this way. I'm so very sorry for all you are going thru and all the losses on top of losses. God, please give this lady extra strength to endure! Praying for you.

 Yes!
Totally blessed!! Plus, we're sort of veterans of disruption. So in the light of what could have happened, we can't feel too terrible about it. It's a temporary inconvenience instead of a tragedy. Best yet, it's OK to feel OK about it because NO ONE was hurt, though some lost all their stuff and even work in progress.

 Amba is my hero
Amba,
I just watched the video of the fire, and all I can say is YOU are my hero! Holy cow, you have a spine of pure steel to get your husband into the chair under these circumstances.
I told my son the firefighter that training in handling care devices for the elderly should be mandatory for first responders, too. He helped care for my mom while she was still at home, and he agreed.
Poor J, too. He's so lucky to have you help him through this. Disruptions are so hard.
Big hugs and pats on the back to you! Take care of yourself!
