Nita: cut yourself some slack. Of course you've done the right thing. There are no easy answers here, just trial & error. Your mom is safe for now. So go from here. You've done so much for her & you need to be well for your own family & yourself & your dad as well. . Try to get centered & with your sister's help you'll make good decisions. This is tough, so stay as strong as you can. I wish you well. Dee

One can only hope that they can get her meds where they are helping her and get her behaviors under control. This is indeed a sad illness!
Good Luck!

Good luck. Hope it all works out. The family will have to be hyper-vigilant. Review the medications she's been administered and those that are listed as PRN (as needed) every day. Can someone be there at all times?

Thanks for the encouragement. We're on our way to take dad to the VA Clinic for flu shot and then to the hospital to see my mom...clinic is south of us...hospital is north of us!! Anyway, we're only allowed to visit her from 4 - 5 p.m. today and then 2-4 Saturday and Sunday. We've called this morning and they said she's fine (anyone see, "The Italian Job"? Fine means Freaked-Out, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional!! I hope that's not what they meant!! Thanks again for the replies.

Nita -- You're doing a good job. You make each decision one at a time, using the best information and your best judgment based on what you know in that one moment. Get some rest, take care of yourself, so you can continue to make one best decision at a time, and you will continue to do a good job protecting and loving your mom. You go, girlfriend!
